Q. How do your wall stickers cling to the wall and do they leave any residue behind once removed?
A. The wall stickers have a light adhesive already on the back of each design. If you peel your designs off slowly (as seen in our wall sticker removal video) then you shouldn’t have any residue left on your surface. If you do then it can usually just be rubbed off with your hand, sanded away if you are repainting, or you can use any kind of price tag glue remover.
Q. I must admit I’m a little clumsy when it comes to DIY and I’m a little worried that I might rip the wall sticker. How easy is it to do and if it were to happen, do you offer any refunds?
A. The wall decals are a vinyl, not a paper. Some wall stickers have paper in the mix and therefore can be ripped easily. PAINTLESS design graphics should not rip unless really yanked on and even then they should just stretch.
If you have a design that is ripped on delivery then just send back the sheet and we can replace it for you or you can send back the whole package for a complete refund.
Q. Does the colour fade and if so how long before this happens?
A. The color is Guaranteed NEVER to fade on any PAINTLESS design wall & surface graphics. You can use your designs indoors and outdoors without the changing temperatures or UV rays affecting the color for 15 to 20 years.
Q I have a flat radiator and would like to apply a wall sticker to it. Do you know if it would warp or bubble if I were to try this?
A. The vinyl can withstand the heat however when it is warmed it can be wrecked in its softened state. If you do put it on a radiator just don’t touch it while it is on there. PAINTLESS design uses commercial grade vinyl and has been used on everything from cars to jet and planes. They can withstand a lot of heat but just keep in mind that removal might be a little more difficult with the graphic melted onto the surface.
Q. If I wanted to move homes how easy is it to take my wall stickers with me?
A. There are two kinds of wall stickers out there. Movable and non-movable. Here are some of the differences.
Some of the pros to the movable ones are that you can take them with you and change the look of your room a couple of times if you want.
The cons are that because they are low tack they can only be moved a couple times before the adhesive wears off and they either start to curl or fall off the wall. They are not ideal for kitchens, bathrooms or anywhere that steam or wetness occurs as they will not stick.
As well, the designs tend to be all one piece and lack detail because they need to be easy to move around over and over again.
PAINTLESS design specializes in using commercial grade vinyl used in show homes, restaurants & boutiques and are not re-useable.
The pros to this are that they are 100% waterproof, can be cleaned with windex, great for windows, bathrooms, and will never curl or fade. As well, because you wont be moving them around you can get amazingly detailed pieces on your wall and the material is so thin it looks like paint. Because they are used in commercial settings, the finish is much more durable and has a professional look.
The cons are that you cannot move your designs around but for less then a can of paint it is very cost effective to just buy a new one.
Q. I have found a vector graphic I like on a website, however the shape of the silhouette is quite elaborate will this be a problem?
A. This would have to be addressed on a vector by vector basis. An elaborate design might look intricate when it is small but if it is made to be 5 feet tall then the detail isn’t so detailed anymore. The easiest thing to do is email your pictures and the size you want the graphic to be to sales@paintlessdesign.com and we will get back to you within 24hours on any issues as well as with a quoted price.
Q. What problems do most people run into when applying wall stickers?
A. There are two problems that people have when applying their wall stickers. Firstly, they don’t dust their surface first before applying their graphic. Even though walls don’t have a lot for dust to grab onto, your walls still collect it. Stickers or anything adhesive of any kind wont like sticking to dust so before applying, be sure to take a dry cloth, not a wet one, and dust off your surface.
The second problem that people have when applying larger wall decals is that they take the whole backing off and then try to apply it. If you do this then you run the risk of the graphic fold back on itself and then you’re in an awful mess.
Instead, just fold back a couple inches of your design and place it on the surface. By doing this you can also move it around a few times before applying it completely.

Q. What types of surfaces can your stickers apply to?
A. In short, ANY smooth surface that is taught. This means glass (windows, mirrors, vases, dishware), tiles, porcelain, walls & ceilings, plastics (patio furniture, garbage cans, fridge doors, cars & motorcycles), finished metals (stove, washer and dryer, filing cabinets, cars & motorcycles), finished woods (desks, tables, wood floors, shelving, headboards, cupboards), finished cement (painted or very clean & smooth basement floors & walls).
Things that are smooth but not ideal for vinyl decals are items that are not taught like pillows, drapes, and bedding. You could put them on a taught leather or pleather couch but the designs might get a little wrinkled looking after a few sit downs.
Q. I have uneven walls and ceilings or a lot of corners and curves in my room. Can your wall stickers work on my surface?
A. Yes. So long as the walls themselves are smooth and normal then you can bend, wrap or cut PAINTLESS design wall decals to fit your surface.
